Geez, the more I research for this bloghop, the MORE I find!
Here are just a few things that I wanted to share with you that I though were amazing...
Walk Beside Me had a bloghop this summer that featured stories from around the world. Many of these are folk tales that would be great to add to any continent box. She goes into detail explaining the significance behind several of them, especially the one for North America -- a Cinderella-style story. You can find the links under the "Stories from Around the World" button on the right side.
Did you see The Adventures of Bear's post a while back on making a continent cube, in order to practice recognition of the continents.
This week is Children's Book Week in the UK, and this year's theme is ironically "Books Around the World." Check out this post about some great books that are great representations of the different continents. I definitely am going to check out their recommendation for Skip Across the Ocean and My Village: Rhymes from Around the World.
Momtessori had a GREAT idea of making her continent cards so that they were rubbing plates.
You can get free continent and ocean cards at Boggle's World.
I found a couple of downloadable games that deal with world landmarks: "On Vacation Around the World" and "Rock Hopping." They are found here.
Beautiful Sun Montessori made some free world landmark cards.
Enjoy these resources!
